CINEMA Events

The Cleveland Truly Independent Film Festival

Cleveland is home to some of the country's finest filmmakers. CINEMA acknowledges their blood, sweat and tears with the area's only film festival specifically honoring local talent. The 2010 festival was held at the Cleveland Institute of Art's Russell B. Aitken Auditorium (Cinematheque) and featured the short films of 11 local filmmakers whose projects were made with mostly local cast and crew.

Workshops

Filmmaking is an ever evolving art form and CINEMA strives to help the local filmmakers and actors continue to hone their craft by hosting and sponsoring affordable workshops taught by successful industry professionals as well as esteemed academic experts. CINEMA Programs

The Cleveland Young Filmmakers Studio

This new program is specially designed to provide affordable film and acting classes for area kids ages 12-17. As an after school and summer program, young aspiring stars can learn everything from basic camera operation to advanced method acting. Whether preparing for a career in cinema or just spending time in a fun and safe environment with other like minded teens, this program is sure to be a blockbuster!

Scholarships and Internships

CINEMA is dedicated to supporting education initiatives through our scholarship and internship programs. Higher education is pricey, but the cost of no education at all is incalculable. By helping to send local students to area film schools and employing them in for college credit positions, CINEMA strives to prepare tomorrow's artists for their careers.

Pack the House with CINEMA Cleveland

That's a wrap! You've ended principle photography and finished your final edit, now you need a place to screen your masterpiece.
